I couldn't agree more. I often find that my game is at it's worst when I have let my emotions get the better of me. A couple of bad holes and I can literally begin feeling myself 'falling apart' emotionally.

However, this weekend I played what can only be described as one of the most difficult courses in the Philippines, and where I had failed to score below a 100 in more than 3 outings. I had vowed never to play here agin. I did though, this weekend and shot my best round ever. I developed a steeley resolve to not fall apart when things went wrong ( i.e. tripple bogeys, or double par). On the back 9 things began to go a little pear shaped after one bad hole. I went through 3 consectives holes with two double bogey's and and a tripple. I just gritted my teeth, and literally shook myself out of the mindset that it was not going to go all horribly wrong and shot three consecutive pars to finish. I kept saying to myself, I can do it, just stay calm and be positive, it's just a round.

It was best feeling ever. Mental strength is more than 50% of the game in my opinion.

John:

I watched a couple segments and only had time to read a few chapters before going to the course.
I tried the John Daly chipping technique on the practice area.
Well, I chipped in two during the round - one for birdie - one for par.
Wow.

HI John,
Just joined and looking forward to trying your suggestions. I am nearly 68 years and my handicap has been sliding from 13 to 20 !! Very frustrating and due mainly to the short game, which I seem to have lost - mainly confidence of course! I am retired and my wife plays as well (22) so I don't want to give up, but have often considered it. We travel all over South Africa golfing together and recently Thailand. Great comraderie at this age!!
I certainly hope your e-book and videos will assist and will keep you posted.
Kind regards, Fred

Hi John,

well I started to join your site several months ago, but 'chickened out', mostly because I thought I could do this without anybody's help.
I was talked in to playing golf in April 2008 by some friends of mine who had been playing for several years. We usually play twice a week. I am sort of stuck
shooting between 95 - 105. My wedge game is my usual problem, though today it was my 1st shot from the fairway that killed my game ( 104 ).
Will be 70 in July...my flexibility isn't great....but I don't like being beat by these guys every round.

Excellent call Jon, I do have Jim's dvd's and can honestly say that after only 4 days my swing looks so much better, gone are all the jerky unnatural movements, all replaced by a smooth fluid rhythmic swing. I cannot wait for 2 weeks to be over so i can go and hit some balls.

John,
So far so good. Speaking only for myslef but I suspect others, after going over the points several times, I don't see how there is enough instruction to keep interest (that is subscriptions) going a few month down the way. I know you are going to comment once a week or so, but unless I am mistaken it going to be hard to maintain the monthly charge on this alone.
Maybe suggesting where we lose shots and responding to the most common.
